Krug Champagne is releasing its first vintage in five years - the largest leap in vintage releases since the brand began in 1843. The 1995 vintage, released this month, will be priced at £130 for a 750ml bottle and £290 for a magnum. It is the only vintage to have been made by three generations of the Krug family.

Krug only declares a vintage in years that demonstrate excellent quality, outstanding character and great individuality. The last release was the 1990 vintage. The Krug 1995 vintage has spicy notes of gingerbread and aromas of melon, the company said.
