A touch of Latin American flair is being added to the UK vodka market with the introduction of a Mexican vodka complete with an agave worm in each bottle. Specialist mezcal and tequila importer Wine and Spirit International is shipping in 50cl bottles of 45% abv Villa Lobos retailing at £18. Managing director Dale Sklar said: "We've created a premium vodka with a distinctly Mexican twist.The agave worm, long associated with mezcal production, adds a subtle flavour and offers something unique in the premium vodka market." The product is the result of the shortage of the agave plant used to make tequila. It is produced by the Licores Veracruz distillery in southern Mexico which sought alternative products to distil when there was insufficient agave. {{DRINKS }}
