The company has achieved organic growth in beer volumes of 6% with an operating profit up by 7% for the period compared to last year.
In the UK the company saw particularly strong results with operating profit up by 19% on a like-for-like basis, with international operating profit up by 4%.
The company also noted that its four key brands, Foster’s Kronenbourg 1664, John Smith’s and Strongbow, grew strongly with total volumes up by 9%.
Volumes fell by 11% for the company’s Mythos brand in Greece, manufactured in Mythos Breweries. This was due to a slow start to the tourist season, but is expected to pick up around the time of the Olympics.
Newcastle Brown Ale continued to do well in the USA with volumes increasing by 10%, ahead of the imported beer sector, which grew at 1-2%.
