Restaurant chain Gourmet Burger Kitchen has ramped up its presence in Waitrose after a successful trial.

The premium burger business teamed up with All About Food which produces retail products for brands including Pizza Express and Nando's to trial four-packs of the fresh burgers in 42 Waitrose stores last year.

The burgers have now been rebranded and repackaged to boost visibility. Waitrose is extending the number of listings to 93 stores this week and making the burgers available on Waitrose online. They will now come in two-packs of six-ounce burgers (rsp: £3.99) made with 100% coarse-ground Aberdeen Angus beef seasoned with salt and black pepper. The burgers contain no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.

The launch would target consumers looking for a quality burger in a take-home format, said All About Food.
