Exclusive Sheila Eggleston Britvic is test marketing a premium fruit juice cordial from its Orchid Drinks stable of adult soft drinks. Described as a sub brand of Aqua Libra, Tapestry is made from a blend of fruit juice concentrates and has no added sugar or artificial flavours. It is currently on trial at Waitrose retailing at £2.99. The drink, available in two flavours  orange, kaffir lime, lemongrass and grape, and cranberry, aronia, blueberry and grape, comes in 500ml heavyweight glass bottles in sleeves emulating a tapestry effect. Refrigeration is recommended after opening and consumption within 14 days. Director of category planning Sue Garfitt said: "It's not a straight dilutable. It's a different animal, almost like a nectar. But it's a high quality product and our team are working on it." Tapestry came to light in February 1999 when Orchid Drinks first mooted plans to launch a premium natural drink under this name to grow the burgeoning adult soft drinks category. These plans were put on hold with the company's acquisition by Britvic in July 2000. Since then Britvic has pledged heavy investment in the Orchid Drinks portfolio in a bid to double the value of the range in five years to £32m. This includes new ads and promotions for Amé and Purdey's from May, while Aqua Libra is getting a packaging makeover in August. {{MARKETING - P&P }}
