Innocent Drinks has named PepsiCo marketer Thomas Delabriere as its new marketing director, describing him as its "dream guy".

Delabriere - currently marketing director of Doritos, Sensations and Sunbites crisps at PepsiCo's Walkers business - is expected to take up the marketing director role at Innocent from March next year.

Richard Reed, co-founder of Innocent, said Delabriere was the ideal candidate for the position, and would help the business meet its international sales targets.

"We are excited by Thomas's arrival because he is our dream guy," said Reed. "He is totally into brands, well experienced in establishing the health benefits of food through marketing and he is entrepreneurial."

Delabriere will be appointed to Innocent's board of directors and will report to company founder Jon Wright.

One of his first responsibilities will be to oversee an £8m marketing campaign, which kicks off in January and encourages people to eat their 5-a-day.

PepsiCo confirmed a move could be on the cards.

"Thomas has indicated that he is interested in pursuing career options outside of PepsiCo, but we haven't concluded our discussions with him at this stage," said a spokesman.

Innocent's managing director Jamie Mitchell had been covering the role of marketing director since it was vacated by Gareth Helm in March, but Mitchell resigned four weeks ago to develop a private equity business.
