The sheer number of promotions on Heinz products has achieved what no other brand has come close to doing for many weeks. Standing just one percentage point ahead of Walkers, the question now is whether Heinz will be able to consolidate its lead and maintain the top spot next week.
Though drinks continue to dominate, the balance between alcoholic and soft drinks has changed this week with soft drinks drawing ahead. This change in supremacy is clear when looking at the brand chart which, in previous weeks, contained two alcoholic drinks brands. These have now been forced outside the top 10 while soft drinks brands are more in evidence. Coca-Cola, Fanta and Tango all feature in the top 10, Coca-Cola moving up seven places while Fanta and Tango are both new entries.
