Walkers returns to the top of the chart for the second time this year, forcing Nestlé down to second place. Less than half a percentage point separates the two brands. However, Walkers managed to ease ahead with a glut of promotions on crisps and snacks.
Walkers makes good use of the buy-one-get-one-free offer and is frequently found on feature displays on floor stacks and gondola ends. Nestlé, meanwhile, offers a wider variety of promotions on smaller displays.
Müller and Cadbury both move up the chart, while Kellogg’s and Heinz lose ground this week. Cadbury is the highest climber, with multibuy offers dominating its activity, supported by the extra-fill offers and, of course, the obligatory price promotions.
The bottom half of the chart is dominated by new entries, the highest being Coca-Cola, which comes back into the chart after an absence of one week. Robinsons has been just outside the chart in recent weeks and this time manages to secure the number 10 spot.
