The ‘added health’ range uses pure mineral water sourced on a farm in the heart of South Africa’s wine-producing region.
The key feature is that oligofructose is added to this water. Experts believe this food component aids digestion and increases the body’s ability to absorb calcium. Cape Aqua’s Martin Hartman said people need different levels of calcium depending on their age, so varying levels are added to the water to create Optimize 0+, Energize 21+ and Revitalize 50+. The waters are also oxygenated.
Despite the scientific tinkering, the waters have no taste profile.
“They are absolutely pure,” said Hartman. “The only fancy thing about our product is the packaging.”
