Soaring demand for premium quality Welsh beef has put a retailer on the hunt for more supplies.
Tesco said the launch of its Finest Welsh beef range last month had proved so successful, it is now looking to recruit 1,500 new farmers.
The retailer launched the range into 43 stores throughout Wales and said sales had exceeded all expectations.
Meinir Phillips, Welsh marketing manager, said: "Our new Finest range gives customers the very best quality. We knew this would be popular, but are staggered at its immediate success and the response we have had from customers."
The beef is produced by St Merryn Foods at its £45m state-of-the-art plant in Merthyr Tydfil.
Tesco said Finest Welsh beef was drawn from a range of different breeds, with each animal being independently graded and quality checked.
