Stewart Pope is joining Meat Promotion Wales (Hybu Cig Cymru) as marketing manager to drive strategy after the revamping of Welsh Lamb and Welsh Beef as the new body.
Pope said: “It is my ambition to open up new markets and
expand existing ones to get our stakeholders’ produce on more and more tables across Europe.”
Chief executive Gwyn Howells said: “When HCC was formed in April we had a vision of creating a unit in Aberystwyth to deliver all of our marketing work and this appointment will further realise this aim.”
Pope was European marketing manager for New Zealand Meat Board until last year. He has worked for Food from Britain since as development account manager in charge of developing export businesses.
He has 20 years’ experience of managing individual food marketing projects.
