Britvic and Virgin have played down industry speculation they are aiming to capitalise on the difficulties being faced by Coca-Cola Enterprises. Britvic, which handles Pepsi in the UK, confirmed it was planning a burst of brand activity. But it insisted this had been planned way before CCE's difficulties began. Sales director of Virgin Drinks Brett Marshall, said: "We recognise all trade customers have their individual needs. Our hard work, support and flexibility when dealing with customers has resulted in a number of recent enquiries to list Virgin Cola." CCE has faced a massive backlash from wholesalers ever since it unveiled new trading terms that did away with over riders and other promotional money. The row seems to have reached stalemate with neither wholesalers nor CCE giving any ground. {{NEWS }}
