Glasgow-based wholesaler and KeyStore owner JW Filshill has teamed up with Highland Spring to launch a free app that enables shoppers to monitor their water consumption on the go.
Designed for iPhones, ‘Hydro Meter’ shows users how hydrated they are - providing eight notifications throughout the day until they have reached the recommended fluid intake.
The app, downloadable via a QR code on PoS in-store, also uses geo-fencing technology to alert shoppers when they are within 500 metres of a KeyStore and notify them of any exclusive Highland Spring promotions available in store. Competitions and prizes and also featured.
Plans to incorporate the app in areas of high footfall such as schools, universities, doctors’ surgeries, gyms and health clubs will also be developed as the app becomes established, the firm said.
Simon Hannah, managing director of JW Filshill added: “The app has been in development since last year and forms part of a robust consumer-facing marketing strategy in 2013 which will see us working closely with our suppliers to offer keen deals and promotions that are exclusive to KeyStore.”
Bill Constable, Highland Spring national account manager added: “This is an exceptionally innovative development from one of Scotland’s leading wholesalers and convenience store groups, and an ideal collaboration for a supplier like Highland Spring.”
