Menzies Distribution is “delivering to plan”, its parent company John Menzies has said.
In a trading update ahead of John Menzies’ agm today, the group said overall print volumes at Menzies Distribution were “in line with internal forecasts”.
And ahead of the World Cup, the newspaper and magazine wholesaler said sticker sales “continued to be a feature” but returns would not be known until the third quarter of the year.
It also said good progress had been made on its rationalisation programme. Sites at High Wycombe and Bangor had been closed and magazine packing for South East England had been consolidated into its Maidstone site.
Menzies revealed in March this year that it would accelerate its rationalisation plans to address volume decreases.
