Six multiples will battle it out to become retailer of the year in the British Turkey Awards.
The judges, which include The Grocer’s Market Edge editor Richard Clarke, admitted they had been impressed with retailers’ turkey ranges.
Head judge Karen Barnes of the Good Housekeeping Institute said: “Retailers are boosting sales with excellent POS material, recipe cards and good use of the Quality British Turkey logo, which is exactly what the industry wants to see.”
Vying for retailer of the year are Asda, Morrisons, Safeway, Sainsbury, Somerfield and Tesco.
The winner is to be announced at a gala dinner taking place on September 23.
