Wilkinson Sword is stealing a march on arch rival Gillette by launching what it claims is the world’s first four-blade razor.

Quattro, which hits shelves next month, is also said to be the safest yet with no fewer than eight protective wires wrapped around the blades to help prevent nicks and cuts.

Rsp for the razor, which will come with two replacement blades, will be £6.49, placing it at a 30p premium above the normal price of Gillette’s Mach3 Turbo. A pack of four replacement blades will cost £6.79, while eight will cost £12.35.
