Constellation Wines has launched a national food and wine text recommendation service, tied in to its Australian brand Hardys, to help consumers choose drinks to go with their meals.

The service follows research which showed that only one in ten wine drinkers felt confident that they knew which type of wine to drink with which food.

Consumers text their food choice and year of birth - to comply with The Portman Group's responsible drinking Code of Practice - to receive a wine recommendation from the Hardys portfolio.

Claire Griffiths, vice president of brands marketing, said: "Because the Hardys range is so extensive - with more than 50 SKUs to choose from - there is a wine to go with any dish."
