The deal means the off-licence chain has dropped its existing supply contract with Whittles Wines.
However, it said it wanted to continue to maintain positive relations with the company.
“We got the tender on the basis of service and value,” said a spokesman for P&H’s drinks arm Winerite, which will be handling distribution under the new deal.
P&H already distributes all of Wine Cellar’s confectionery, soft drinks and tobacco, so the new agreement is designed to consolidate the retailer’s supply.
Under the terms of the contract, Winerite will supply all of Wine Cellar’s retail estate, including 157 Booze Buster stores and 45 Wine Cellar stores. It will also deliver to the 25 stores sporting the retailer’s new Simply Drinks fascia and its eight Simply Food & Drink convenience outlets.
