South African company Winecorp has become a majority shareholder in Afrika Vineyards as part of a long- term plan to improve the quality of its wine. Adrian Garforth, Winecorp's European md, said: "There is no South African producer good enough or big enough to take on the world. We feel it is crucial for South Africa to improve the quality of the wines if it is to compete on an international level." Afrika Vineyards could offer some solutions as it has been set up specifically to identify, buy and develop land to produce high quality grapes. {{DRINKS }}
