Ben & Jerry's to go climate-neutral

South Burlington, Vermont: Ben & Jerry's has announced plans to become the world's first climate- neutral ice cream manufacturer. The company is investing a minimum of €2.4m (£1.6m) over the next five years to cut emissions by 10% from 'cow to carton'. It is planning to use a three-step approach by focusing on maximising energy efficiency, moving to renewable energy sources and offsetting unavoidable climate impact against renewable energy projects such as wind farms, bio-gas or solar projects in the developing world.
