Camden, New Jersey: Campbell Soup Co has announced plans to enter the Russian and Chinese markets for the first time. It will launch three products in Russia and two in China in October, backed by advertising campaigns, in-store promotions and samplings. "The soup markets of China and Russia represent an extraordinary opportunity for Campbell," said Douglas Conant, president and CEO. "Soup is consumed in huge amounts in these countries. Income levels are rising in both countries, and consumers are increasingly time-pressed and seeking more convenient ways to prepare nourishing meals."
