Heinz acquires Cadbury business

London: Cadbury Schweppes has sold its Australian jams, toppings and jellies business to Heinz Australia for A$70m (£29m). The sale includes the granting of a licence to use the Cottee's and Rose's brands in certain categories in Australia and New Zealand, with completion expected in the third quarter. Cadbury has also sold its Canadian bulk and seasonal candy business Allan Candy to The Allan Candy Company for C$22m (£10m), and its Italian confectionery business Cadbury Italia to Leaf Italia for €9m (£6m).
