Three companies form drinks alliance

Johannesburg: Diageo, Heineken and Namibia Breweries have formed a joint venture for their combined beer, cider and ready-to-drink businesses in South Africa. Diageo and Heineken will each own a 42.25% stake in the business, called DHN Drinks, and Namibia Breweries will own a 15.5% stake. Diageo and Heineken have also signed a separate agreement to build a brewery and bottling plant in the Gauteng province to produce Amstel and other key brands.
