U-turn over promise for Olympic pork

BEIJING, CHINA: The government has made a U-turn on promises to feed Olympic athletes meat from pigs bred using hormone-free, organic food. Officials said there was no need for 'Olympic pork' because the majority of pork in Beijing now met safety standards. Olympic organisers denied levels of hormones or antibiotics in meat provided during the 2008 Games would be adjusted to avoid false-doping tests and said all food destined for the Olympics was the same as that for the general population.
