Whitworths is claiming a category first in the dried fruits sector with the launch of what it dubs an "indulgent adult" snacking product. Due on shelf in the next few weeks, the new line mixes dark or milk chocolate chunks with nuts and exotic dried fruits such as cherry-flavoured cranberries. Rsp: £1.99, 250g. Head of marketing David Smith said it had received a massive thumbs up from consumers in taste tests. Branded as Wow, the new products are consistent with the World of Whitworths message being rolled out across the company's range.
