Reports at the weekend said Lion Capital had appointed Rothschild to evaluate the businesses as part of a review of parent company Findus Group. Last month, it was reported that Lion was looking to sell Findus’s Nordic operations.Young’s CEO Leendert den Hollander said the story was “all media speculation”, adding the company was focused on ensuring “our business continues to have a successful future for the long term with the full support of our owner Lion Capital”.
Meanwhile, Young’s has pledged not to move Cromer crab processing to Grimsby or Scotland and instead keep processing in the town. However, it is still considering closing its Cromer Crab Company site.
