Young’s Seafood has launched a new range of frozen fish fillets marketed specifically as an ingredient for fish dishes.

Easy Cook comes in three variants white fish fillet chunks, pink salmon fillet chunks and smoked fish fillet chunks and can be cooked from frozen. The range (£2.99 for 250g) will hit Sainsbury’s on 23 October after September rollouts to Tesco and Asda.

The skinless and boneless fish pieces in the Easy Cook range were designed to make preparing meals such as fish curries and stir-fries more straightforward, said Young’s marketing director Natasha Gladman. “Easy Cook, which is pre-cut into small pieces, will reduce preparation time,” she added.

The packs, which are ­partially transparent to make portioning easier, also carry recipe suggestions to give consumers greater confidence in preparing fish-based meals at home.
