Given the current beef with our cross-Channel neighbours, it seems foolhardy for anyone to organise an event and plug it as "a celebration of all things French". And you would have thought the organisers of something called Vive La France, which is going on this weekend at London's Olympia Exhibition Centre, are just asking for trouble. Promising to bring "the soul of France to the heart of Britain" is just a mite naïve, given some French traditions you might think of. But they assure us there will not be any lorry blockades, burning tyres or farmer demonstrations at Olympia. And we understand British farmers and lorry drivers will not be protesting either. {{COUNTERPOINT }}
