Sunflower oil price twice level of last year
In common with all oil prices, sunflower oil used in sardine production is double the price compared with this time last year. In preparation for new season production in April, producers are warning of substantial price increases, possibly as much as 20%. Current stocks are adequate but when new contracts are placed with Portuguese and Moroccan packers, importers are bracing themselves for difficult price negotiations
