Distributor Hi-Spirits is introducing a range of bourbons to 290 Asda stores later this month.

The Buffalo Trace range, made in the Ken­tucky Buffalo Trace Distillery, comprises Sazerac Rye (rsp: £24.99), Bench­mark (£14.99) and flagship brand Buffalo Trace (£19.99).

“American whiskey is an underdeveloped category in the UK off-trade,” said Jeremy Hill, chairman of Hi-Spirit. “Most UK consumers have only had the chance to try one brand. There’s as much variety in bourbon as there is in Scotch and Irish whiskey.”
