food surgeon

Foodies, fetishists, weirdos and any combination of the three rejoice! Here’s a series of YouTube videos you’re going to love: The Food Surgeon.

The films show a pair of gloved hands using shiny medical equipment to perform complex surgery. On food. It’s creepy, but it’s also addictive.

The eerily silent films are charged with a certain sinister eroticism. In the ‘Reese’s Peanut-Butter-Ectomy’, a scalpel is used to remove the peanut goo, before the ‘cream’ from an Oreo cookie is transplanted. The queasy sensation of watching a strawberry get a ‘Nutella augmentation’, meanwhile, is akin to the can’t-look-away thrill of a horror movie.

Some patients are luckier than others. An avocado is bandaged up and tucked into bed - but an unlucky mandarin meets a grisly fate.

So far it’s all been fruit and confectionery - we nervously await the surgeon’s move into meat.
