When French retailer Intermarché cut the price of 950g jars of Nutella from €4.50 to €1.41 (a 70% drop) last week, it had to ration customers to three jars each.
Even then, there was blood in the aisles as customers scrapped over the stuff. One doesn’t expect this lack of sophistication from our French cousins! And the fighting was pretty out of order, too.
