In an interview with some kids from the city of Akureyri last week, Icelandic PM Guðni Jóhannesson talked pizza toppings.

He expressed his distaste for pineapple, joking to the kids that he’d like to ban it as a topping. But such was the force of feeling on the matter - it blew up on Twitter almost immediately - the hot fruit-disliking PM had to issue a statement days later, in which he clarified that he did like pineapple in its natural state, and that no, he didn’t have the power to ban its use as a topping.
