robot one use

A restaurant’s waiting staff are its faces and voices, so it’s worth taking hiring and training seriously. Right?

Well, yes, but even the friendliest, most well-trained person can have an off day. This is perhaps why at this diner in Hang Dong, Thailand, food is served by a homemade robot called, catchily, ‘UBOT-01’, who navigates via magnetic tape, and comes with a safety sensor that detects obstacles.

Designing and building your own low-rent Transformer (though BMW might quibble the ‘designing’ bit) seems like a lot of effort to go to in order to avoid paying anyone, but at least it can’t sneeze in your soup.
