Spanish citrus growers have been hit by bad weather in the Valencia and Castellon provinces.
According to trade sources 150,000 tonnes of oranges and easy peelers have been bruised by the wind. However, lemons which are grown mainly further south in Murcia, have escaped.
In the Seville region cold weather has held back initial strawberry picking, says importer AFI.
A gap is also appearing in availability of blueberries and blackberries which will not start in Spain for three weeks.
Rain and cold has also hit Brazil's apple crop, reducing overall production for the coming season.
