Wholesaler Bestway has reaffirmed its interest in acquiring Nisa-Today's in the wake of the collapse of the Costcutter merger.

Bestway MD Younus Sheikh said it remained willing to explore further the benefits of a potential takeover. An initial approach made in May had been put on hold while merger talks progressed.

Asked if Bestway was still interested in buying Nisa-

Today's, Sheikh said: "I would like to, yes. We are having a look at the possibilities of renewing our interest."

But he admitted there had been no direct talks with Nisa-Today's regarding the matter since the initial offer, which was never formalised.
