Booker is boosting its customer services by offering free NVQ training for its Premier customers.

A full range of courses will be available, from basic hygiene to advanced NVQs in retail operations and customer service.

Courses have been designed externally by the Association of Colleges. Assessment and training will take place in store and will be conducted by local college assessors.

Booker said the response to the new service has been overwhelming. Steve Fox, head of Booker’s Premier programme, said: “Courses are directly relevant to the convenience sector. I strongly recommend Premier retailers take advantage of them.”
