Morrisons reclaims the top spot in the chart this week, forcing Asda back down to second place while the remainder of the chart remains stable. Morrisons is particularly strong on alcoholic drinks, with a wide variety of brands on promotion in this category. Morrisons predominantly focuses upon buy one get one free offers and multibuy promotions and makes good use of floor stacks throughout.
Alcoholic drinks remains at the top of the category chart, but its lead has been further reduced to nine percentage points, with culinary holding its position in second place. Soft drinks moves up one place this week to take number three, pushing household down to number four. Cakes and biscuits comes in as a new entry with a number of promotions featured on off-fixture displays.
Heinz retains its place at the top of the brand chart, remaining six percentage points ahead of second place, which this week goes to Nestlé. Nestlé features promotions across a number of categories, including confectionery and cereals. Price promotions dominate the Nestlé activity, but there are also some extra fill offers. Heinz features a number of price promotions and multibuy offers on soup.
Kelloggs, in third place features a number of multibuy offers in Tesco, Sainsbury's and Morrisons. There are four new entries in the chart including Slimfast, McVities, Kenco and Fairy. McVities has price promotions on the Go Ahead range in both Sainsbury's and Asda, featured on side stacks and gondola ends.
In the own label category chart alcoholic drinks moves up two places to take number one pushing frozen down to second place. Healthy eating and weight control continue to feature in store. There is just one new entry, with culinary coming in at number four.
