Once again everything changes in the fascia chart with Safeway moving back up from number three to claim the top spot.

Safeway is dominated by price promotions and is particularly strong on alcoholic drinks with numerous sitings around the store.

Morrisons is the only other fascia to move up and climbs one place to number four. Tesco, Sainsbury and Asda meanwhile all move down by one place.

Competition is very close with the top three in the chart separated by less than one percentage point.

Alcoholic drinks increases its lead at the top of the chart for the second week running and now stands seven percentage points ahead of frozen which continues in second place.

Health and beauty and snacks both come in as new entries, at numbers three and five respectively.

Multibuy offers dominate both categories but while health and beauty is featured almost exclusively on gondola ends and side stacks, the snacks category also has floor stack displays.

Walkers remains at the top of the chart for the fourth consecutive week but is now being threatened by Heinz which moves up one place to number two.

There are three new entries this week including Mars, KP and Walls, with Walls confirmed as the highest new entry coming in at number six.

McVitie’s moves up six places and is now well positioned at number four.

In the own label chart frozen continues at number one but its lead has been diminished yet again.The category is ahead by seven percentage points, down from a 13 percentage point lead last week.
