Food scares such as the Sudan 1 crisis are an issue for the whole food and drink industry, Premier Foods’ non-executive chairman David Kappler says in an exclusive interview with The Grocer this week.

He was reluctant to comment on the scare in February, which was triggered when it supplied contaminated Worcester sauce to manufacturers.

However, he said there was too much conflicting advice on food safety.
