Tesco has appointed Mervyn Davies as non-executive director with immediate effect.
Davies was group chief executive of Standard Chartered, which has operations in more than 50 countries and is a leading bank across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
Tesco chairman, John Gardiner, said Davies’ Asian experience “will be particularly valuable as Tesco grows in South East Asia”.
