Tesco has vowed to battle the multimillion-pound fine it was handed yesterday by the Office of Fair Trading. The UK’s largest supermarket was fined £10.4m as the competition watchdog’s long-running probe into price fixing in the dairy trade finally drew to a close.
The Co-operative Group has kicked off a pilot scheme to offer legal services from its outlets on the high street. Three of the mutual’s Bristol banks will offer free legal advice to shoppers over the next two weeks.
Tesco has won the long-running legal battle over its bid to redevelop the Old Trafford cricket ground. Following a judicial review, the High Court ruled today that the £32m redevelopment drawn up by Tesco and Lancashire Cricket Club could go ahead as planned.
