The Morrisons store at The Gyle, Edinburgh, won the Top Store award at this time last year, as a result of its perfect availability and flawless service.
Store manager Joe Turner was especially proud of his hard-working staff and gave them all the credit for the achievement.
Despite Turner's modesty, he had good reason to be proud. It was the third time that he had won the award as a store manager, each time in a different store. Turner had previously won the award at Morrisons stores in Perth and Glasgow the year before.
Unfortunately, when we called the store this week to catch up with Turner, we found out that he is no longer with the company and could not be contacted.
