Sir; I note with interest Tesco’s half year results showing £900m-plus profit.
It is obviously doing something right in consumers’ eyes to attract the footfall. But it’s a pity that it does not pay the same attention to potential employees wishing to join it.
I have applied for two separate positions in the commercial department in the past six months and, apart from receiving an email reply acknowledging my application, have not heard anything since. Not even a standard letter saying thank you but no thank you.
I wonder if Tesco would treat its customers with such disdain?
Come on Sir Terry - get your HR department in order and treat potential employees with the respect that you expect from your suppliers and the respect you give your customers.
