Makers of sheep and goats milk cheeses are being urged to consider exporting to Germany - where demand for their wares is burgeoning.

UK Trade & Investment in Germany circulated a note addressed to UK cheesemakers last week after liaising with a German agent who wants to represent UK producers.

“We’ve been working with a German agent with a taste for fine cheese and a network of food wholesalers and supermarkets waiting to stock UK goats/sheep’s cheeses,” wrote trade advisor Kenny Legg.

UKTI is asking interested producers to provide a company profile and product information, including prices, via the UKTI website.
