Asda is claiming to be the first retailer to stock British carrots all year round.
Working with Scottish growers in Perthshire, Angus, and Aberdeenshire, the retailer said it had extended the home-grown season from 46 weeks of the year to 52.
Asda produce manager John Shoesmith said: "By working closely with growers we have reached our target of becoming 100% self-sufficient."
Asda said sales of carrots in its stores had risen by 10% in volume over the last year.
