The yumberry is being hailed as the next superfruit to hit supermarket shelves as one company looks to bring it to the juice drink category by next spring.

Juice manufacturer The Berry Company - whose products include the superfruits goji and acai berries - said it would launch a yumberry juice drink in the next six months to capitalise on the UK's hunger for healthy ingredients. Yumberries are mainly cultivated in the south east of China and contain lots of vitamin B and C.

"We hope to own the berry category by identifying the latest ingredients and developing healthy products from them," said company founder Khaled Yafi.
