Elbe boosts CA capacity Apple growers in the co-operative Elbe Obst are building three new CA stores which will increase its capacity to market late fruit from 6,000t to 40,000t. Growers in the traditional region near Hamburg have always believed there is a potential to serve the UK because of its location. The region has developed a range of modern bicoloured and red varieties which next season will include a newly licensed apple called Red Prince. The first small volume will be harvested next season followed by rapid expansion. {{FRESH PRODUCE }}
