Frozen promotional space accounted for 8% of activity this week and of that space frozen potato products accounted for 18%. The three brands recording activity were McCain, Aunt Bessie's and Harry Ramsden's.

McCain led the way with offers in three of the retailers: Somerfield, Morrisons and Tesco, with 47% of the space. In Somerfield, all featuring the save mechanic, were McCain Home Roasts 1kg and McCain Home Fries 1.5kg. In Morrisons, the offers were McCain Home Fries 1kg buy-one-get-one-free and McCain Wedges 150g at a special purchase price of £1. In Tesco, the offer was half price on McCain Home Roasts 1kg.

The Aunt Bessie's range of frozen potato products on featured space promotional offers included Mash 1kg, Homestyle Chips 1kg and Crispy Roast Potatoes 907g, all using the save mechanic in Asda.

The third brand with offers in this category is Harry Ramsden's. Again featured in Asda, Harry Ramsden's Oven Chips 1kg were promoted using the x for y mechanic.

The household category was third in the branded activity chart this week with Bold, Fairy and Cif all increasing activity. Bold took the top spot with offers across its laundry products, including Liquitabs, ­Powder and Tablets in Morrisons and Sainsbury's using the x for y and extra-free mechanics.

Cif recorded activity in four of the retailers, but overall had less promotional space allocated. Cif products included Oxygel 500ml, Bathroom Spray 750ml and Oxy-Wipes 60-pk, using x for y, buy-one-get-one-free and extra-free mechanics. Cif Oxygel also has the opportunity to 'win a Möben Kitchen'.

Fairy brands were on promotion in Asda, Morrisons and Sainsbury's. In Asda, Fairy Liquid 750ml used the x for y mechanic. Fairy Fabric Softener 2-litre was on half price and Fairy Active Burst 30-pk had 50% extra free in Morrisons. In Sainsbury's, Fairy included Non Bio Liquitabs 20-pk two for £8 and Fairy Fabric Softener 750ml 2 for £2.00.
