n Wrigley has criticised confectionery rivals Nestlé and Cadbury Trebor Bassett for allowing the mints sector to suffer “from a lack of credible investment”.

n The comments came as the chewing gum giant made its debut in the sector with two flavours of Extra Mints. It plans a first year spend of £12m behind its new offerings

n The company is also withdrawing its high-strength gum X-Cite because the product didn’t reach its “hurdle rates”.
